Defined Contribution training courses

Defined Benefit training courses

The requirement for all pension scheme and trust RAC  trustees to receive training is effective since 1 February 2010. New trustees, including those persons who become a director of a body corporate that is a trustee, appointed on or after this date must receive training within six months of the date of their appointment. Those trustees in place prior to 1 February 2010 must receive training within 2 years i.e. by 31 January 2012 and every two years thereafter.

Mercer offers a choice of two Pension Board approved courses - Defined Benefit or Defined Contribution. The aim of these courses is to provide participants with a wealth of information on the roles and responsibilities for trustees of these pension plans. As employees are much more aware of the benefits their pension schemes can offer, they expect information and assurance that the scheme is run diligently by all involved.

The training courses are presented by a senior panel of experts from Mercer who have years of experience dealing with trustee issues. These courses are conducted over a day and are designed to be interactive with workshops, case-studies and question/ answer sessions. Whether you are a trustee, a pension administrator or involved in the day-to-day management of pensions, these courses will be of benefit to you!

Who should attend

  • New trustees
  • Existing trustees wishing to refresh and update their knowledge
  • In-house administrators
  • HR / Finance personnel with responsibility for pension plans.
